Mission: To protect and promote the health and safety of all Florida residents/seasonal residents by striving to assure access, delivery and administration of flu and pneumonia vaccines while improving the adult influenza and pneumonia immunization rates in accordance with Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations. What is an immunization coalition? An immunization coalition is an organization that brings together groups and individuals, combining their resources and talents in projects that increase immunization rates. The Florida Flu and Pneumonia Coalition concentrates specifically on influenza and pneumococcal immunization. The FFPC includes representatives of: Community-based organizations Medicare-contracting managed care plans Mass immunization providers Skilled nursing facilities Home health agencies Community health centers Drug manufacturers/distributors The Medicare Quality Improvement Organization in Florida (Florida Medical Quality Assurance, Inc.) |
